Having worked with many addictions, we know its not as simple as just saying "Well don't be addicted, just stop it", if it was that easy you would of by now. We can work with your unconscious mind (Which runs ALL addictions) to develop alternative choices that will get you what you may get from the addicition, but with out the addiction itself.

So what exactly is an addiction?

Simply put, the term addiction is used to describe a recurring compulsion by an individual to engage in some type of specific activity, even despite harmful consequences to their health, mental state or social life.
Many people claim to suffer from an addiction to describe an obsession, compulsion, or excessive physical and even psychological dependence, such as drug addiction, gambling addiction, alcohol addiction, food addiction, eating disorders (such as anorexia or bulemia), smoking and nicotine addiction as well as many others.
In the eyes of medicine, an addiction is a state in which the body relies on a certain substance in order to function, and accordingly develops a physical dependence, as in drug addiction. When the drug or substance is suddenly removed, it will cause withdrawal, a characteristic set of signs and symptoms.
In todays age, the term addiction not only refers to a physical dependance, but also a psychological dependence too. For example, addictions to gambling or computer games have no physical need, but there is psychological dependence that causes this compulsion and need to just do it!
